108-Using AI in the Classroom

Using ChatGPT, Diffit, and Magic School AI  to create lessons (grammar, phonics, SEL, ELD and more) personalize learning (differentiate using graphic organizers), enhance classroom interaction, and create extended activities. Essentially, this class will show how the presenters have used AI in their classroom, and help first time users of AI. Time will be given to log into applications and try on their own.

Attendees are warmly encouraged to bring any lesson ideas or activities they wish to explore for independent learning.

109-Bringing Parts of Speech to Life!

When you think of parts of speech, do isolated grammar lessons come to mind? This is not the case when using Mentor Sentences! This session will demonstrate how to bring some of the proficiency scales to life while teaching students to take ownership of their grammar usage. We will discuss a weekly structure that includes explicit instruction, read-alouds, and writing by the end of the week.
